Relieve pregame stress:

Parents feel a huge amount of stress when their children compete-often more stress than the child. While transporting their kids to the game, some of that stress assuredly has been absorbed by your junior team members because kids are in tune with how their parents feel and are highly intuitive. Part of coaching a junior hockey team is dealing with this.

Experts Say 90% of Youth Sports Coaches Have Little to No Training, Thus Putting Their Athletes at Risk

Carson City, NV (PRWEB) May 6, 2008– The American Coaching Academy warns that untrained volunteer coaches are putting young athletes at risk in alarming numbers.

“There are an estimated 3.5 million youth sport coaches in the United States,” says Dr. Ryan Hedstrom, Professor of Sports Administration at Castleton State College. “All but a million of those are volunteer coaches at the youth level, and 90% of those individuals have little or no training in coaching.”
